Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVDV Ab) Test, Qualitative detection of BVDV ,VETERINARY Bovine Range

Application:

The BVDV Antibody Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus antibody in bovine’s serum or plasma.

Principle: Chromatographic Immunoassay
Specimen: S/P
Pack: 10 T
Shelf Life: 2 Years
Specificity: 97.00%
Format: Cassette
Reading Time: 10 Minutes
Storage Temperature: 4-30℃
Sensitivity: 97.20%
Accuracy: 97.10%

Description:

The BVDV Antigen Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative, membrane based immunoassay with a double antibody system for the detection of BVDV antigens in serum or plasma. The membrane is coated with recombinant BVDV antibody. During testing, antigen to BVDV, if present in serum or plasma specimen react with BVDV antibody coated colloidal gold particles in the test strip. The mixture then migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action and reacts with recombinant BVDV antibody on the membrane in the test line region. If the specimen contains antigens to Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus, a colored line will not appear in the test line region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

How to use:

  • Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and use it as soon as possible. Best results will be obtained if the assay is performed within one hour.
  • Collect fresh whole blood, and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens. Do not leave the specimens at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
  • Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of serum or plasma (approximately 25 μl) and immediately add 2 drops of buffer (approximately 40 μl) into the specimen well (S), then start the timer. See illustration below.
  • Read the results at 10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.

INTERPRVTATION OF RESULTS

Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, regardless of T line being strong or faint.

Negative: Only clear C line appears.

Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone, regardless of T line’s appearance.
